Why Go to Mass this Divine Mercy Sunday April 11

...and make Confession and receive the Eucharist. We cannot imagine the personal and individual impact that He said it shall have:

According to the notebooks of Saint Faustina, Jesus made the following statements about this day:

"On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity." (Diary of Saint Faustina, 699)

Have you ever tried Confession and doubted your ability to make any headway against sin? I know I have for many years in the past. My podcasts narrate that reality. St. Faustina was a dedicated vehicle to bring us deeper motivation to keep seeking His Mercy. Here is a suggested path to Celebrate this Sunday:

Observing the Feast of Mercy Sunday:

  1. Celebrate the Feast on the Sunday after Easter.
  2. Sincerely repent of all sins
  3. Place complete trust in Jesus
  4. Go to Confession, preferably before that Sunday due to big crowds
  5. Receive Holy Communion on the day of the Feast if possible
  6. Venerate the image of The Divine Mercy
  7. Be merciful to others through actions, words, and prayers
Everything to gain and nothing to lose in this Sunday April 11, 2010.....do it with me.

The a-C has a take on Lanciano

"Hey...a-C, ever heard of Lanciano?

What is it?

Google it...better yet, I'll send you a site link."

I then emailed the a-C 9 different website links, one is a secular science publication article on the testing done on the Holy Sacrament validating its biology. Here's his take after maybe looking at one site:

a-C says....."you believe that hoax?"

"yup"

"Thats the mark of the Devil" says a-C.

When all logic, facts and supporting tangible evidence prevails, he goes with evil supernatural, and then proceeds to find a way to insult me as gullable enough not to see through the "hoax" of the miracle of Lanciano.

nice, huh?

Why not the Eucharist?

It is written that Jesus healed a Leper. Jesus walked on water. Christs' witnessed miracles are documented and never (in my experience) doubted by Protestants their reality and validity. If you/we believe those events actually occurred, then, as a Protestant, why not the Eucharist? How hard is it to fathom that he infuses the Eucharist with his Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity at Mass? John 6, its right there with no wavering adjectives or mysterious side-door symbolic language. Eat. Plain and simple.

Protestants profess the same simplicity with their alter call, "proclaim he is your Savior" and you are "saved". Yes, I am generalizing which of course merits a measure of latitude so forgive my broadbrush, but attempt comprehension of the point.

The Simplicity is there. Just as an alter call profession, it is a reach for grace from Him. It is a hypocracy of some weight to believe in the miraculous and deny his real presence in the Eucharist, when it is all Biblically supported.
